Reminder for Friday 17 November

All children are invited to come to school tomorrow in their Pyjamas, as part of Children In Need. Year 2 children, will also need to ensure they have a warm coat and wellies, as we are making kites in the morning and then flying them outside in the afternoon.

Up close and personal

Today Year Two got up close and personal with some amazing animals: a meerkat, giant land snail, snake, armadillo, frog and a chameleon. Although many of the children were apprehensive to begin with, they all overcome their fears and either held or stroked the animals. The children even posed as trees so the chameleon could climb up them!

Future Firefighters

Year 2 were lucky enough to have a visit from Tweedale fire service. They talked to us about the importance of fire safety. They also allowed us to sit inside the fire engine – the children loved pretending to be real firefighters. It was lovely to hear so many of the children talking with their friends about how they now want to be firefighters when they’re older – what a lovely aspiration!
